or just have around the house….hose, hoops, balls, balloons, jugs, and junk. You
will go home with instructions for these active and inactive fun-filled games.

A2 - Simple Puppets - Hen Moore

These
faceless little hand puppets have many uses in the church setting - Biblical
interpretation, storytelling, children’s messages and pure entertainment. Help
out with a simple production to share with the SARW community and receive a
pattern for making this puppet at home.
A3 - Prophets, Pennies & Pop
Culture Oh My! - Chandler Guess
Who says you can’t use video games, movies, music,
magazines, TV, or even
billboards
to communicate God’s word? By joining popular culture, Biblical truths, and
low-cost/no-cost ideas we will develop imaginative curriculum and program ideas
that can be used with all ages.
A4 - Encountering God - Jane Kuhn
Join us as we learn both new and ancient ways to encounter
God in tangible ways. We will use everyday objects and activities in worship,
prayer, and meditation. Experience a variety of spirituality centers that can be
reproduced for use with your congregation, youth, or college group in worship
and retreat settings. These can also be used as sacred spaces by individuals to
connect to God.

Shaker Boxes on a Shoestring (part one) -Dick Porter and Howard Moore
In this two-part class (Saturday
AM and Sunday AM), students of all levels will construct a bentwood oval box
using a variety of hand & power tools. We will heat, bend, and assemble wood
into a beautiful oval box with a close-fitting lid. You will receive written
instructions describing how to teach this class at home, including a plan for
building a low-cost boiler. No prior experience is required. Class limited to
10.

B1 - Rec Express - Beth Gunn
Let’s gather for a hands on approach to using Rec Express
highlighting all the new features of version three. The easy to use computer
software allows you to enter the parameters that meet your needs and discover
all the games that meet those criteria. Games & activities range in activity
level from low to high and encompass a wide age range.
B2 - No
Partners Required - Hen Moore and Roger Maness
Dancing is a wonderful way to celebrate living in
community. Have a good time learning a variety of dances, including dances that
can be used in worship. Go
home
ready to teach others. No dance experience is necessary.
B3 - To Dye For - Darci McKinnon
Come be transformed.. using BATIK. Create beautiful works
of art using colored dyes, fabric, wax and other resist techniques. Take this
opportunity to transform fabric into beautiful pieces of art or creations for
use in worship settings as well as ideas for use in youth & children’s ministry.
No experience necessary EVERYONE can do this!
B4 - Faith Like a Child - Mary

Sharing the faith
with those under five feet tall comes with extraordinary opportunities and some
challenges too! Join us as we remember what it’s like to be a child in the
church by experimenting with different techniques of teaching the youngest
members of our congregations. We will play, act, create, and laugh a whole lot!

going to find out ways to utilize the many no cost/low cost services that Google
offers in ways that will punch up the effectiveness & creativity of your church
programming.

Dutch Oven Cooking
Learn the fine art of dutch oven cooking in this hands on
bonus workshop which follows your normal Saturday afternoon class.
You’ll learn while you prepare our dutch oven dinner
for all the participants.
PLUS...you’ll have the opportunity to cook, taste
and share specialty dishes that won’t be on the main menu for the evening.

D1 - Help! I’m Up Front!

Whether
leading recreation, Bible study, or dance, there are some tips and
techniques that can make you a more
successful leader. This class will explore ways to plan the flow of an event
from the time folks arrive until they leave that help build community,
facilitate connections between participants, and that put the focus on the group
rather than on the leader. Learn strategies for leading small group process as
well as large group activities.
D2 - Hello My Name Is.... - Josh Jackson
Community and belonging happen in places where “everyone
knows your name.” This class will provide a wide variety of name games and
ice-breaker activities that help group members begin to know one another and
feel connected.
D3 - Counting Our Days, Writing Our Lives - Deb
Guess
Paint, pens,
newspapers, graffiti, words, pictures, doodles and more can be incorporated into
the journaling process as a way to hear God’s voice. Come experience right brain
starter activities as fun and unique ways to approach journaling. Go home ready
to incorporate creative journaling into your spiritual life.

Let the world inform your faith through program ideas that
go beyond the walls of your church. From just outside the building to the
Walmart parking lot, discover ways to bring scripture alive for all ages.
